British CVs are factual and concise. No photo, no personal details beyond contact information, and never more than 2 pages.
UK CVs never include a photo. Including one marks you as unfamiliar with British norms and may trigger unconscious bias concerns from employers who follow equality legislation.
Open with a 2–3 sentence personal statement summarizing your experience and what you bring. This replaces the "objective" used in some other countries.
Two pages is the accepted standard for experienced professionals. One page for graduates and early-career candidates. Three pages is too long — recruiters will assume you can’t prioritize.
Contact details → Personal statement → Work experience (reverse chronological) → Education → Skills → Interests (optional, keep brief). The order matters — UK recruiters expect this sequence.
